Stats: Most Rapid Employment Drop Posted in Wholesale in November 2025

Bratislava, 12 January (TASR) - Employment fell in six of the ten monitored sectors of Slovakia's economy in November 2025, with wholesale posting the most rapid year-on-year (y-o-y) decrease of 3.1 percent, the Statistics Office reported on Monday. Drops of up to 2 percent were also seen in retail, in selected market services, in the construction sector, in industry and in transport including warehousing. Conversely, the number of employees in the accommodation sector grew by 5.4 percent y-o-y. Increases between 0.5 and and 3.6 percent were also seen in the information and communication sector, in the sale and repair of motor vehicles and in pubs and restaurants. In the first eleven months of 2025, employment decreased y-o-y in five sectors, with the most rapid decline of over 2 percent being reported by the sale and repair of motor vehicles and by transport including warehousing.
