Bratislava, 7 January (TASR) - An appeal filed by Daniel B. [name abbreviated due to legal reasons], charged with extremism, against a Specialised Criminal Court (STS) resolution accepting the indictment submitted by a prosecutor from the Prosecutor-General's (PG) Office, was dismissed by the Supreme Court on 18 December 2025, spokesperson for the Prosecutor-General's Office Jana Tokolyova confirmed for TASR on Wednesday after the aktuality.sk website broke the news first. According to Tokolyova, the Supreme Court also dismissed Daniel B.'s appeal against a resolution by which STS rejected his request to be released from custody. "A prosecutor of the PG's Office, as a party to the criminal proceedings, has received the Supreme Court's decisions dated 18 December 2025. By these decisions, the Supreme Court dismissed the defendant D.B.'s appeal filed against the STS resolution accepting the indictment by a prosecutor of the PG's Office and dismissed the defendant's appeal against the STS resolution rejecting his request to be released from custody," stated Tokolyova. A prosecutor of the PG's Office filed an indictment against Daniel B. with the Specialised Criminal Court in early July. The charges covered 26 attacks described in 12 separate extremism-related counts. Daniel B., who had previously been the subject of three arrest warrants, was extradited from the United Kingdom to Slovakia under strict security measures at the end of January 2025. In late April of last year the Supreme Court remanded him in custody due to concerns that he might continue his criminal activities. jrg/df
