Bratislava, 19 December (TASR) - Trains are scheduled to depart from stations on Saturday (20 December) with scouts on board to deliver the Light of Bethlehem to towns and villages across Slovakia, spokesman for national rail passenger carrier ZSSK Jan Bacek told TASR on Friday, adding that the first such train is due to depart from Bratislava shortly before 8 a.m. The last stop will be the town of Medzilaborce, and the easternmost point of the railway network where the light will reach will be the municipality of Stakcin (both Presov region). A total of 27 ZSSK trains will transport the Light of Bethlehem across regions and allow the public to light their candles directly at railway stations and stops, where scouts will be present, said Bacek. "As the national carrier, we're proud to be part of this exceptional tradition for the 36th time. On Saturday, we'll dispatch 27 train connections that will stop at more than 300 railway stations and stops throughout Slovakia," said director of the ZSSK communications department Jana Pobisova. The Light of Bethlehem arrived in Slovakia on the evening of 6 December, when Slovak scouts took it over from their Austrian counterparts before passing it on to Polish and Ukrainian scouts. am/df
