Bratislava, 19 December (TASR) - The proportion of jobseekers in the working-age population (WAP) available to work reached 3.88 percent in November 2025, rising by 0.01 percentage points (p.p.) month-on-month and by 0.15 p.p. year-on-year, the Labour, Social Affairs and the Family Centre (UPSVaR) reported on Friday. Another indicator, the share of jobseekers of working age in the working-age population, showed a similar trend, reaching 4.61 percent in November of this year, compared to 4.59 percent in October and 4.47 percent in November of last year. "In November, the number of unemployed under the age of 29 continued to decline. It fell by 1,098 people month-on-month and by as many as 1,899 people when compared to September of this year. Last month, it stabilised at 39,749. One of the main factors behind the downward trend was this year's secondary school-leavers and university graduates finding employment," stated the labour centre. The number of long-term unemployed also continued to decline slightly. In November, labour, social affairs and the family offices registered 60,928 jobseekers who had been registered for more than 12 months. The figure was 168 higher in October and 832 higher in September. "The number of long-term unemployed is at its lowest level since 2000. It peaked in July 2000 at 274,031, and was at its lowest in November 2019, when there were 57,149 registered jobseekers," said UPSVaR. am/df
