Bratislava, 15 December (TASR) - An amendment to the law on the financial transaction tax will scrap the obligation for private individuals-entrepreneurs to pay financial transaction tax as of 1 January 2026, Financial Directorate spokesman Daniel Kovac informed TASR on Monday. These taxpayers will therefore pay this tax for the last time for December 2025. Some banks will collect the tax as early as in December 2025, while some others might collect it in January, said Kovac. The amendment doesn't govern the obligation for private individuals-entrepreneurs to have a special transaction account with a bank. "Individual entrepreneurs can check the conditions and fees for this account with their bank," added Kovac. ko/df
