Stats: Inflation Remains Unchanged at 3.7 percent in November

Bratislava, 15 December (TASR) - Consumer prices of goods and services rose by 0.3 percent month-on-month (m-o-m) on average in November, with year-on-year (y-o-y) inflation remaining unchanged at 3.7 percent, the Statistics Office reported on Monday, adding that this was the lowest figure this year, matching those seen in April and October. Eleven months into 2025, consumer prices grew by 4 percent y-o-y. Prices were higher than a year ago in all 12 monitored sectors, with the growth ranging from 0.9 percent in food and soft beverages up to 9 percent in hotels and restaurants. The y-o-y price growth accelerated in three segments of consumer basket: hotels and restaurants (9 percent), miscellaneous goods and services (7.1 percent, recreation and culture (5.4 percent). The overall price growth was also driven by transport, going up by 4.4 percent, the second highest figure seen this year. Fuel and plane tickets were sold at higher prices than a year ago as well. November was a positive surprise in terms of food price developments. Their prices were slightly (0.7 percent) lower than a year ago. The last y-o-y price drop was reported more than five years ago, in May 2021. Monthly growth in consumer prices was seen in seven of the 12 monitored sectors, with the growth ranging from 0.1 percent in the miscellaneous goods sector up to 1.7 percent in transport. Meanwhile, prices declined in food and soft beverages, in alcoholic beverages and tobacco, and in furniture and home furnishings.
