Bratislava, 12 December (TASR) - Following a meeting on Friday, the extended presidium of the junior governing Voice-SD party unanimously expressed its confidence in party chairman Matus Sutaj Estok and tasked him with preparing a working programme conference, TASR has been told by the party's press department.
"Following today's meeting of the extended presidium of the Voice-Social Democracy party, which was also attended by regional chairpersons, the party leadership unanimously expressed its confidence in the Voice chairman. The extended presidium also tasked the party chairman with organising a working conference at the beginning of next year," added the department. The conference will focus on the party's programme priorities for the next two years and will also raise the topic of next year's regional elections.
"Voice is a stable party with a clear responsibility towards the public. We've confirmed this today with our unity and shared commitment to focus on specific solutions for Slovakia and its regions. The working conference at the beginning of the year will provide a space at which we'll set clear priorities and prepare for the challenges that await us," said the party leadership after the meeting.
Sutaj Estok said that he accepted his colleagues' decision with humility. "I respect it and want to respond to it with hard work. I'm ready to continue and lead Voice forward. I know what tasks lie ahead for our party and our government, and I feel an obligation to see them through. I'll continue to pursue pragmatic policies focused on solutions and helping people," he added.
