Stats: Nominal Salaries Rose Y-o-Y across All Sectors in October

Bratislava, 12 December (TASR) - Nominal monthly salaries increased year-on-year (y-o-y) in all ten monitored sectors in October, with the pace ranging from 2.1 percent in the sale of motor vehicles up to 8.9 percent in pubs and restaurants, the Statistics Office reported on Friday. Nominal salaries grew by more than 5 percent in most of the monitored sectors in October. When considering inflation, real salaries increased y-o-y in eight of the ten sectors. Salary developments ranged from a decrease of 1.5 percent both in selected market services and in the sale of vehicles including their repairs up to a growth of 5 percent in pubs and restaurants. Real salaries also grew by more than 3 percent y-o-y in retail trade and construction. In the first ten months of 2025, meanwhile, salaries increased y-o-y in nominal terms across all ten monitored sectors, and in real terms in nine of them. Real salary developments ranged from a drop of 1.5 percent in selected market services up to a growth of 4.9 percent in pubs and restaurants. ko
