Foreign Ministry Confirms Deaths of Two Slovaks in Tenerife

Bratislava/Madrid, 8 December (TASR) - Two Slovaks were killed on the Canary Islands, Spain on Sunday when a huge wave struck the Los Gigantes cliffs in the Santiago del Teide area of Tenerife, the Foreign and European Affairs Ministry confirmed for TASR on Monday, adding that another person also suffered injuries. The information was reported by the Canary Islands authorities on Sunday (7 December). The Slovak embassy in Madrid is in contact with the victims' family and is providing the necessary consular assistance and cooperation. However, due to personal data protection and the absence of consent, the ministry hasn't provided any further information at this time. jrg/df
