Bratislava, 26 November (TASR) - The two judges vying to become the final candidate for the vacant seat of a judge of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) are Katarina Roskovanyi and Dana Jelinkova Dudzikova, the Judicial Council's press department has informed TASR, adding that a new election is scheduled for 1 p.m. on 16 December. "It might seem that the process is taking too long, but it shouldn't be forgotten that the candidates must meet the strict requirements set out by both the legal order of the Slovak Republic and the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms," said Judicial Council chair Marcela Kosova. Slovakia still doesn't have a third candidate for the ECHR judge post. Two candidates, namely Branislav Jablonka and Ondrej Laciak, were elected at the June session of the Judicial Council. However, the council must submit three candidates for the post to the Slovak government. Those eligible had until 21 November to submit proposals for the third candidate. ko/df
