President Meets with UNICEF Project Participants on World Children's Day

Bratislava, 20 November (TASR) - On the occasion of World Children's Day on Thursday, President Peter Pellegrini met at the Presidential Palace with participants in UNICEF's international project called Kids Takeover, the palace posted on a social network, adding that the project gives children a space to draw attention to their rights and talk about issues that shape their lives. "On 20 November, we commemorate the 36th anniversary of the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, a key document that protects children in 196 countries around the world. In this spirit, President Peter Pellegrini welcomed students from the Pankuchova United School and Nobelovo namestie Elementary School in Bratislava to the Presidential Palace," said the Presidential Palace. The young visitors toured the palace and engaged in a discussion with the head of state about the impact of social media on children - the opportunities it brings, but also the risks of the digital world. The children also presented the president with a picture they had made themselves, a photo album with messages from the pupils, and symbolic blue UNICEF light - a symbol of solidarity with children in need. am
