Bratislava, 19 November (TASR) - If a general election had been held in November, opposition Progressive Slovakia (PS) would have won with 21.1 percent of the vote, followed by the senior coalition Smer-SD party, supported by 16.7 percent of voters, according to a recent poll carried out by the Social Research Centre, which is part of the Statistics Office's subsidiary Infostat.
The third-largest support would have gone to the junior coalition Voice-SD party with 11.5 percent of the vote. Also making it to Parliament would have been the opposition Christian Democrats (KDH, 9.1 percent), the extra-parliamentary far-right Republic party (7.8 percent), opposition Freedom and Solidarity (SaS, 7 percent), extra-parliamentary Democrats and the opposition 'Slovakia' party (both 6 percent).
Among the parties that would have stayed outside Parliament were the currently governing Slovak National Party (SNS, 3 percent), 'We Are Family' (2.3 percent), and Democratic Party (1.1 percent).
The survey was conducted on a sample of 1,109 respondents between November 3-7.
