Bratislava, 19 November (TASR) - At its regular session on Wednesday, the government should decide on lifting the state of emergency that was declared in connection with the outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) in Slovakia.
Premier Robert Fico (Smer-SD) submitted to the Cabinet session the Outlines and Procedure for Elaborating the Vision and Strategy for the Development of Slovakia until 2040 - Slovakia 2040. The outlines and procedure are based on the knowledge that Slovakia needs to strengthen the level of its strategic governance in a dynamically changing external environment. The premier suggested that the strategy be developed under the expert guarantee of the Slovak Academy of Sciences as an independent and impartial document.
The ministers will also discuss compensation for expenses related to extraordinary events. The state should allocate some €381,000 for them. The money should go to district offices and local governments hit by fires, windstorms and other emergencies. In addition, the state should provide one-time aid to residents of these municipalities totalling some €2.59 million.
The information on the progress in implementation of the Slovakia Programme as of 31 October 2025, prepared by the Investment Ministry, is on the agenda of the session as well.
