Bratislava, 14 November (TASR) - Slovakia will participate in the Expo 2027 world exposition in Belgrade, Serbia, TASR was told by Zuzana Eliasova, the head of the communications department of Slovakia Travel, the national organisation for promoting tourism.
The agreement on binding participation in the event was signed by Slovakia's Commissioner General for Expo 2027 Belgrade Lukas Parizek, with Serbia's Commissioner and Internal and Foreign Trade Minister Jagoda Lazarevic and Expo Director Danilo Jerinic.
"We're the first country to officially sign the agreement to participate in the Expo 2027 Belgrade. This is a big deal for us because it is one of the largest events that a single country can organise," said Parizek.
The international exhibition is scheduled to begin on 15 May 2027, and will last for three months. More than 120 countries are expected to take part. "The Expo 2027 world exposition in Belgrade is a unique opportunity to show how we can bring nations and cultural diversity together and build sustainable tourism on an international scale for the benefit of society as a whole. Our participation is proof of our commitment to continue promoting Slovakia's good name across the international spectrum and to deliver solutions that will change the future for generations to come. On this occasion, we'll also strengthen our cooperation with Serbia in the field of tourism," added Slovakia Travel head Matej Fekete.
