Bratislava, 1 November (TASR) - National tourism promotion organisation Slovakia Travel has launched a series of events aimed at promoting Slovakia as an attractive destination for winter holidays in connection with the approaching winter season, Slovakia Travel reported, adding that it initially focused on promoting inbound tourism from abroad and presented the beauty of Slovakia's winters in Hungary and Romania. Representatives of the High and Low Tatra mountains, the city of Banska Bystrica and its surroundings, and the village of Donovaly (Banska Bystrica region) took part in presenting Slovakia's winter holiday opportunities in Budapest to Hungarian partners and media. The event in Budapest was part of wider activities to attract Hungarian tourists to Slovakia. Slovakia will also soon be featured in a winter media campaign, which will run on 11 Hungarian media outlets. The national organisation continued to promote Slovakia in Hungary on 22 October, this time at the prestigious MICE Business Day event in Budapest. Along with 21 Slovak partners, it presented Slovakia to buyers from Hungary and all over the world for the eleventh time. Slovakia Travel is also expanding its activities towards the Balkans. In recent days, a successful B2B workshop was held in the Romanian city of Temesvar, which brought together Slovak and Romanian tourism experts. A total of 12 Slovak tourism operators (representatives of hotels and regional tourism organisations) presented their trips to 25 Romanian partners, including travel agencies, media and influencers. Romania is one of the most important European markets for Slovakia. Almost 30,000 Romanian tourists visited Slovakia between January and August of this year. am/df/mf
