PG Zilinka: Verdict in Attack on Premier Case Step towards Achieving Justice

Bratislava, 21 October (TASR) - Prosecutor-General (PG) Maros Zilinka views the Specialised Criminal Court's (STS) verdict in the case of the terrorist attack on Premier Robert Fico (Smer-SD) as a significant step towards achieving justice. "I find today's verdict of the Supreme Court in the case of the murderous attack on the Slovak premier to be a significant step towards achieving justice and preventing such a terrible act from being repeated," Zilinka has posted on a social network. STS in Banska Bystrica on Tuesday found defendant Juraj C., who shot Premier Fico in Handlova (Trencin region) on 15 May last year, guilty of committing an act of terrorism and sentenced him to 21 years in prison. The court's verdict isn't yet final, as it can still be appealed against. ko/df
