Bratislava, 18 October (TASR) - Defence Minister Robert Kalinak (Smer-SD) and acting Police Corps president Jana Maskarova wished new Ordinary of the Slovak Armed Forces Pavol Sajgalik a lot of strength. Kalinak and Maskarova attended his episcopal consecration in Bratislava on Saturday where they delivered their speeches. "I'd like to congratulate Pavol Sajgalik today on this very important day. I'm looking forward to new challenges we'll have the opportunity to see from you and to implement," said the defence minister. Kalinak also thanked Frantisek Rabek, the first ordinary of the Slovak Armed Forces and Armed Corps for his many years of service. "Father Bishop has become an integral part, without whom we can't imagine the existence of the various units and offices of the armed corps," he added. On behalf of the Police Corps and all members of the armed forces and corps, Maskarova also expressed her gratitude. She also praised the service of the new ordinary so far. "His humility, humanity and ability to perceive others have left an indelible memory in many of us. Today, as he assumes responsibility for the spiritual leadership of all those in uniform who protect security, justice and order, I'm confident that military and police clergy under his leadership will step in where the support of faith and the light of human dignity are needed," she said in her address. am
