Bratislava, 17 October (TASR) - A prosecutor of the serious crime department of the Prosecutor General's (PG) Office has returned the case of charged former head of the State Material Reserves Administration (SSHR) Kajetan K. [name abbreviated due to legal reasons] to an investigator, ordering him to carry out specific actions and refile it, PG's Office spokesperson Jana Tokolyova has informed TASR. The PG's Office announced in January that the investigator had filed a motion to press charges against Kajetan K. "A prosecutor from the PG Office's serious crime department has returned the case of the charged SSHR ex-head to the investigator for completion with an instruction to carry out specific actions and then resubmit it," specified Tokolyova. Kajetan K. is being prosecuted for accepting a bribe, legalising incomes from crime, violating obligations in the administration of entrusted property and machinations in public procurement and public auction. The former SSHR head was released from custody by a prosecutor of the former Special Prosecutor's Office in October 2021 based on an investigator's request. He had been in custody since April 2020. The prosecution of Kajetan K. was launched in March 2020 by the former National Crime Agency (NAKA) over SSHR's missteps in procuring medical materials related to the coronavirus pandemic and the procurement of flats in Bratislava. Kajetan K. denied any wrongdoing. ko/df
