Kosice Airport Posts Record September with over 90,000 Passengers

Kosice, 11 October (TASR) - Kosice Airport experienced its most successful September ever this year, with a total of 89,671 passengers passing through its gates, up by 6.1 percent year-on-year, airport spokesman Juraj Toth has reported. In total, Kosice Airport processed 670,965 passengers in the first nine months of the year, which is 9.5 percent more than in the same period of last year. "More than 420,000 passengers were processed on scheduled flights to one of the nine destinations, including Warsaw, Vienna, Zurich, Dublin, London Luton, London Stansted, Liverpool, Prague and Zadar, which is a year-on-year increase of 20 percent," the airport announced. More than 248,000 passengers used charter flights, which is 4.1 percent less than last year. "The destinations that interested our passengers most during the ending summer holiday season were Antalya in Turkey, Larnaca in Cyprus and Hurghada in Egypt. Charter destinations were followed very successfully by the popular seasonal connection to Zadar, Croatia, which was used by more than 26,000 passengers between April and September," said the airport's CEO Thomas Dworschak. am/df
