Parliament Rejects MP Probe at Slovakia Travel
30. septembra 2025 13:55
Bratislava, 30 September (TASR) – Tourism and Sports Minister Rudolf Huliak (independent) will not be required to present a detailed report on the activities of Slovakia Travel over the past two years to the House, and no parliamentary inspection will take place at the institution either, as Parliament turned down on Tuesday a motion to that effect proposed by opposition MP Richard Dubovicky (PS).
According to Dubovicky, the proposed MP probe was intended to focus on media reports and findings from recent months, including potential violations of the law, inefficient use of public funds, and failures in fulfilling the organisation’s public mission.
The submitted draft stated that Slovakia Travel has long failed to meet the expectations of both the public and experts in the field of promoting Slovakia and supporting tourism. Dubovicky also sought to highlight what he described as serious misconduct in the organisation’s handling of public resources and aimed to ensure that it begins to fulfil its designated role.
