All Public Bus Routes in Trencin Are Back in Service

Trencin, 29 September (TASR) – Public transport bus services in Trencin have resumed operation on all routes as from 3 p.m. on Monday following the theft of catalytic converters from fifteen buses in the morning, according to Trencin spokeswoman Erika Sagova.
The services have resumed using the buses transferred by transport operator Transdev from other municipalities.
However, she noted the replacement buses do not fully meet the standards of Trencin's public transport system and, as they lack the ticketing equipment, passengers can board them free of charge.
Some of the buses do not comply with full low-floor design allowing barrier-free access, and the electronic route displays are not functional, with paper signs being used instead. There is also no free Wi-Fi, which means the buses are not online and do not appear in the Transdev mobile app or on the displays of other buses. The interior design of some of the buses is configured for regional transport rather than city use.
"As the non-operational buses will be gradually repaired, we will be increasing the number of original Trencin public transport buses in operation while at the same time discontinuing the use of replacement buses as soon as possible," she concluded.
