Rail-infrastructure Operator ZSR Starts Reconstruction of Vrutky Railway Station

Vrutky, 29 September (TASR) - More than €2 million will be invested by state-run rail-infrastructure operator ZSR in the reconstruction of the railway station in the town of Vrutky in Zilina region, Transport Minister Jozef Raz (a Smer-SD nominee) told a press briefing on Monday, adding that the construction works will last 12 months according to the contract. "The reconstruction of the station in Vrutky is another of the planned reconstructions, the aim of which is not only to modernise, but above all to ensure the necessary comfort for passengers. We have also kept in mind disabled passengers, the plan is to build barrier-free access to the ticket office and toilets," said Raz. According to ZSR project director Andrej Cintula, the construction works started at the beginning of September and the reconstruction will cost less than €2.2 million, ex-VAT. "Gradually, the facade will be renovated, the roof will be repaired, a new camera system will be built, an information system will be installed and barrier-free access to toilets will be built," said Cintula. am/mcs
