Jaguar Land Rover to Restart Some Parts of Its Production in Next Few Days

Nitra, 29 September (TASR) - Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) will restart some parts of its production in the next few days, the company's management informed its dealers and suppliers on Monday. According to JLR Slovakia communications manager Katarina Chlebova, carmaker teams are working continuously in partnership with cyber security experts, the UK's National Cyber Security Centre and law enforcement bodies to ensure a secure and controlled restart. Chlebova went on to say that the basic steps of the restoration have been started. On Thursday, 25 September, she confirmed that part of the carmaker's digital infrastructure was back up and running. The company has significantly increased its invoice processing capacity, and the global logistics central spare parts warehouse, which supplies the distribution centres of the carmaker's retail partners in the UK and around the world, is gradually returning to full operation. The finance system used by JLR to process wholesale vehicle sales has been put back into operation. Jaguar Land Rover's production was disrupted by a large-scale cyber-attack in late August. The company had to shut down its systems to minimise the extent of the damage. am/mcs
