Trencin, 29 September (TASR) – The disruption of several public transport bus services in the city of Trencin on Monday was caused by the theft of catalytic converters, according to regional police spokesperson Ingrid Krajcikova. The case is currently under investigation by the Trencin police. „In the early morning hours, a police patrol was dispatched to the public transport company's car park in Trencin following a report of catalytic converter theft. At the scene, it was confirmed that catalytic converters have been stolen from several buses operating within the city’s public transport system,” Krajcikova said. As a result, multiple city bus routes in Trencin were out of service on Monday morning. The issue became apparent when vehicles began to leave the depot for their scheduled routes. A total of 16 buses are currently inoperable. The transport operator, Transdev, is working to deploy replacement buses on the busiest routes. However, some services are expected to remain unavailable to passengers for most of the day. mf
