Domestic Industrial Producer Prices up 0.8% Year-on-year in August

Bratislava, 26 September (TASR) – Industrial producers sold their goods for the domestic market at prices that were, on average, 0.8-percent higher year-on-year in August, the Statistics Office reported on Friday. Over the first eight months of 2025, domestic industrial producer prices rose by 0.5 percent overall, and increased by 1.3 percent compared to the previous month. Price growth was recorded in 13 out of the 16 monitored industrial segments. The steepest hikes were seen among producers of transport equipment and producers of food, beverages and tobacco, where prices went up by 4 percent. On the other hand, the growth was dampened by energy prices, which were 1.5 percent lower year-on-year. Export prices for industrial producers rose by 1.9 percent year-on-year in August and by 0.3 percent compared to July. For the January–August 2025 period, export prices were 1 percent higher than in the same period last year. mf
