Bratislava, 25 September (TASR) - Slovakia's GDP is expected to grow by only 0.8 percent this year, while slowing down to 0.5 percent next year, Slovakia's central bank (NBS) stated in its latest autumn forecast presented by governor Peter Kazimir on Thursday.
In its previous forecast in June, the central bank expected the economy to grow by 1.2 percent and 1.6 percent (respectively). According to Kazimir, there are two reasons for the economic slowdown: worsened external environment and the necessary consolidation of public finances.
