Stur210: Uhrovec to Commemorate Year of Ludovit Stur with Seminar for Pupils

Uhrovec, 24 September (TASR) - The village of Uhrovec in the district of Banovce nad Bebravou (Trencin region) will commemorate the Year of Ludovit Stur with an educational seminar for pupils called 'Ludovit Stur and the Youth of the 21st Century', Uhrovec mayor Zuzana Macekova told TASR on Wednesday. The event will take place in the local house of culture on Thursday (25 September). An educational brochure and 'Pexeso' memory game dedicated to the Slovak figure will be brought to life on this occasion, said Macekova. Martin Stepo from the Trencin Museum and Alena Strinzova from the Uhrovske Museum will deliver expert speeches. After them, the organisers will bring to life the educational brochure Adventures with Ludovit Stur, Journey to the National Language, as well as a knowledge memory game about this codifier of the literary language. The seminar will also feature a presentation of the travelling exhibition Ludovit Stur - Journey to the National Language, a quiz, and a visit to the family home of Ludovit Stur and Alexander Dubcek [They were born in the same house - ed. note]. The event was organised by the Non-Profit Organisation of Ludovit Stur, and co-organised by the municipality of Uhrovec, Uhrovec Primary School, Trencin Regional Authority, the Trencin Museum, the Institute of Education of Matica Slovenska, the Family Home of Ludovit Stur and Alexander Dubcek, and the Uhrovec Museum. ko/df
