Kosice, 23 September (TASR) - The Railway Hospital in Kosice has begun operating normally again following Tuesday's bomb threat, with the bomb-disposal experts giving the green light, TASR was told by Bianka Krejciova from Penta Hospitals SK.
The police have already commenced criminal proceedings in connection with the crime of public endangerment.
"All patients are now back in their respective wards, and the hospital is operating as usual again," said Krejciova, adding that the intervention was carried out quickly, safely and without major problems. Bedridden patients were gathered together in the hospital's entrance area, while patients able to walk boarded evacuation buses.
Kosice Regional Police spokesperson Lenka Ivanova said earlier on Tuesday that one of the city's hospitals had received an email stating: "There is a bomb in the hospital, the bomb will explode."
Police officers were immediately dispatched to secure the hospital grounds and prevent unauthorised persons from entering the surrounding area.
"A dog handler with a police dog trained to detect explosives was also dispatched, as were three evacuation buses from the Fire and Rescue Corps (HaZZ) in which the police and firefighters placed the evacuated people," she added.
