Police: Man Suspected of Shooting in Dacov Lom Charged with Attempted Murder

Velky Krtis, 21 September (TASR) - In connection with the Friday's incident during which shots were fired at a vehicle in the village of Dacov Lom in the district of Velky Krtis (Banska Bystrica region), the police investigator brought charges against a 48-year-old man and also requested his remand in custody, the Banska Bystrica regional police announced on social media on Sunday. The man was charged with an aggravated crime of premeditated attempted murder and illegal possession of arms. According to the police, the decision was based on preliminary findings of experts from the forensic institutes in Slovenska Lupca (Banska Bystrica region) and Bratislava, as well as following the assessment of additional evidence. On Friday (19 September), two people were in the car at the time of the shooting, with one of them suffering injuries requiring the transfer to a hospital. The suspect was detained near the scene shortly after the incident with a submachine gun that was used in the shooting. "When inspecting the scene, shell casings were found by a pyrotechnician. The weapon has been examined by experts," according to the police. jrg
