Bratislava, 21 September (TASR) - Slovak photographer and globetrotter Filip Kulisev has created a new book called 'Earth' along with a documentary of the same name via which he shows the diversity and the magic of the four basic climate zones of the planet.
He presented the work, which he considers to be his pinnacle project so far, during a ceremonial event held in Bratislava earlier this week.
"In my new book I wanted to show the best of the 170 countries that I've visited so far. The beauty of nature surrounding us is not something we should take for granted, as what we take for granted today may not exist tomorrow. That's why I trust that future generations will not see this book as a testament to a lost world," said Kulisev.
In his new work, the photographer displays the variety and charm of the Earth through more than 400 photographs. All continents and diverse natural scenery are represented, from glaciers to mountain lakes, deserts, oceans and canyons through to difficult-to-access islands and locations in national parks around the world. The documentary is 57 minutes long, and the music for it was composed by Robert Bruckmayer. It contains behind-the-scenes footage from the work and travels of the author.
The book and film 'Earth' were presented for the first time by House Chair Richard Rasi, and the book's prologue was written by one of the world's leading ambassadors for environmental protection, Prince Albert II of Monaco. "Armed only with a camera, Filip is engaged in a fundamental fight for us all. He's drawing our attention to the beauty of a world that is magnificent but fragile and that we must save together," said Prince Albert II.
Following the premiere in Bratislava, the documentary will be screened in Kosice in late September. The English version will have its international premiere in Monaco in early October.
Kulisev is one of the world's leading nature and landscape photographers. Over the two decades of his career, he's held more than 200 solo exhibitions in Slovakia and abroad, and he's received several prestigious international awards for his work. He became the European Professional Photographer of the Year in the Nature category in 2012, winning the Golden Camera, and become the European Professional Photographer of the Year in the Drone category in 2020. Kulisev promotes the protection of biodiversity and natural heritage.
