Interior Ministry Rejects Slovensko.Digital's Claims about Electronic ID Cards

Bratislava, 18 September (TASR) - The Interior Ministry has rejected Slovensko.Digital's concerns about the security of electronic ID cards in terms of personal data protection, stressing that they are secure and pose no risk of data misuse, the ministry's spokesperson Matej Neumann told TASR on Thursday. "Citizens can rest assured that digital IDs are secure and that there is no risk of personal data misuse. On Friday (19 September), we will provide a detailed explanation refuting the false claims made by Slovensko.Digital," said Neumann. According to the Slovensko.Digital civil association, the configuration of electronic ID cards poses a security risk, as some of the features could potentially be unsafe in terms of personal data protection. jrg/df
