Kosice, September 18 (TASR) - Foreign Affairs Deputy Minister Rastislav Chovanec said at the SlovakiaTech Forum Expo 2025 in Kosice that Slovakia is determined not only to maintain strong relations with its traditional partners in Europe and North America, but also to seek new opportunities in emerging markets.
On Wednesday, 17 September, he attended the opening ceremony of the seventh such exposition, where he discussed international cooperation and building a technologically sovereign, innovative and competitive Europe.
The Expo, which is being held partly under the auspices of the Foreign Affairs Ministry, is showcasing the latest trends in robotics, artificial intelligence, automation and clean technologies. Chovanec highlighted Slovakia's strategic approach in the field of economic diplomacy, which includes expanding trade partnerships to dynamic regions of the Global South, such as Africa, the Indo-Pacific region, Central Asia and Latin America.
"Such diversification greatly strengthens the resilience and diversity of the Slovak economy, which is the eighth most open in the world. We are systematically focusing on attracting high value-added investments and promoting advanced technologies and research," said Chovanec. The goal of Slovakia's economic diplomacy is to boost Slovakia's competitiveness and economic growth, which contributes to the dynamic and innovative nature of the entire European Union on the global stage.
