Bratislava, September 17 (TASR) - Reacting to criticism from the mayor of Bratislava's borough of Raca, Michal Drotovan, Health Minister Kamil Sasko (Voice-SD) has declared that the mayors of Bratislava's boroughs are being informed about the hospital being built in Bratislava's borough of Vajnory and that he's already met several of them regarding the topic of the national hospital.
Drotovan has complained about a lack of information. "Several months have passed since the publication of the 'visualisations', but no relevant information has been published on the Vajnory hospital project, and a smaller part of this project is also located on the territory of Raca. We have nothing else to do at the moment but to monitor the situation on the construction site," said Drotovan. He wants the government and the Health and Defence Ministries to publish the project along with information about the permit process and the construction and financing schedule.
Sasko told the mayor of Raca that he would be happy to meet him about this matter. He said that Bratislava's health-care plan and medical plan are ready, adding that the medical plan is classified because it contains data that isn't appropriate for discussion.
The General Milan Rastislav Stefanik National University Hospital is to be built on land belonging to the Defence Ministry. The construction of the hospital is to be financed from the recovery plan, 2 percent of defence spending and, to a lesser extent, from the state budget. The aim is to start construction this year. The health minister has declared that a rough hospital structure will have been built by the parliamentary election in 2027.
