Police Launch Prosecution over Suspicious Shipment Seized in Parliament

Bratislava, 11 September (TASR) - Police have launched a criminal prosecution in the case of a suspicious shipment seized in the parliamentary building for the offence of spreading false alert, TASR was confirmed by Bratislava regional police spokesman Lukas Pecek on Thursday.
"A suspicious postal shipment with unknown contents was seized in the parliamentary building. Subsequent analysis of the contents of the parcel by members of the Fire and Rescue Corps (HaZZ) revealed that it isn't a substance dangerous to humans," he added.
A criminal prosecution for false alert has therefore been initiated in the case. "We can't provide further information due to the initial stage of the proceedings," added the spokesman.
Firefighters were called to the parliamentary building on Thursday due to a suspicious package. It was addressed to MP Richard Gluck (Smer-SD), who informed that he doesn't know the sender. Gluck didn't provide further information.
