BRIEF: Premier Won't Support Adoption of Next Sanction Package, Has Conditions

Bratislava, 11 September (TASR) - Following his meeting with European Council President Antonio Costa on Thursday, Premier Robert Fico (Smer-SD) said that he won't support the adoption of another sanction package against Russia until the European Commission (EC) comes up with realistic proposals on how to harmonise climate goals with the needs of automotive and heavy industries. Fico doesn't rule out the possibility that if there is the political will, some challenging goals within the European Union's climate policy could be changed. He said that he won't support the next sanctions package until the EC presents proposals on electricity prices in Europe. NOTE: This story will be extended. ko/df
