Bratislava, 11 September (TASR) - Slovakia's construction output amounted to €740.5 million in July 2025, up 10.3 percent year-on-year (y-o-y), the Statistics Office reported on Thursday, adding that this was the fastest rate of growth seen since January 2023. Seasonally adjusted, construction output decreased by 1.4 percent from June 2025. The overall result was positively influenced by 6.6-percent growth in the dominant new construction sector and a 1.8-percent increase in repairs and maintenance construction work. Domestic construction output accounted for 87 percent of total construction output. Concerning the type of construction, output growth mainly resulted from a 12.3-percent increase in the dominant construction of buildings. Meanwhile, work on civil-engineering structures, including highways, remained at the last year's level in July. The overall result was also positively influenced by the output of Slovak construction firms abroad, which maintained a double-digit growth pace - of almost by 30 percent y-o-y in July. In the first seven months of 2025, construction output reached €4.2 billion, going up by 5.1 percent y-o-y. This positive result can be ascribed to the dynamically growing volume of construction work carried out by Slovak firms abroad (up by almost 25 percent) and a 3.3 percent increase in the dominant domestic new construction. ko/df
