SHMU: This Year's August Ended as Normal across Slovakia in Terms of Temperature

Bratislava, 7 September (TASR) - This year's August ended as normal across Slovakia in terms of temperature, with the highest average monthly temperature being 21.6 degrees Celsius at Bratislava airport, the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMU) reported on its website, adding that on the other hand, the lowest temperature was 14.3 degrees in the village of Vysna Boca (Zilina region).
"The absolute lowest air temperature at altitudes up to 1,000 metres above sea level was recorded on 25 August in the village of Stratena-Dobsinska Ladova Jaskyna (Kosice region), namely minus 1.5 degrees Celsius (on Lomnicky Peak in the High Tatras it was minus 8.4 degrees Celsius on 24 August). The absolute highest air temperature was 37.6 degrees in the village of Muzla on 15 August," added SHMU.
According to the meteorologists, August was very dry to extremely wet in most of Slovakia. The lowest monthly total was recorded in the village of Hran (Kosice region - 26.4 millimetres). The highest monthly rainfall was at the Bratislava-Mlynska dolina station - 188.6 millimetres
