Bratislava, 6 September (TASR) - Parliamentary Chair Richard Rasi (Voice-SD) stated on Saturday that his visit to Japan was an opportunity to confirm interest in deepening cooperation with one of Slovakia's most important partners in the Asia-Pacific region, TASR has learnt from Rasi's post on a social network. "Parliamentary diplomacy is an integral part of our foreign policy and a key instrument in strengthening the position of the Slovak Republic in the world," Rasi wrote on Facebook, describing his visit to Japan as an opportunity to reaffirm his interest in deepening Slovakia's cooperation with the country. Rasi pointed out that in Tokyo he had held talks with the top representatives of both chambers of the Japanese Parliament, who, according to him, confirmed their common interest in the development of economic relations and more intensified cooperation in the field of technology, innovation and education. "I also appreciate the meeting with the chairwoman of the Japanese-Slovak parliamentary friendship group, with whom we discussed the possibilities of cooperation," he stated. The House chair also visited the EXPO 2025 world exhibition in Osaka, where, according to him, Slovakia is showing its modern and innovative face. Rasi noted that participation in such an event is essential for Slovakia because "without it it's impossible to be present on the map of Europe and the world". am
