Bratislava, 2 September (TASR) - Tourism and Sport Minister Rudolf Huliak (Independent) held a news conference on Tuesday to present a new call to support the tourism and spa industry in Slovakia with a total subsidy amounting to €19 million.
According to Huliak, the specifics of this call include, for example, retroactive reimbursement of projects or the financing of project documentation.
"The call has several unique features. The first is the possibility of drawing funds for already completed or in-progress works, including project documentation," said Huliak. "The second is the possibility to apply for a subsidy for projects that have already started since April of this year, and so retroactively," he added.
Another specific feature should be the need for just a minimal number of mandatory documents. Huliak also announced that the allocated sum will be paid by December 15 of this year, in the form of an advance payment. Eligible applicants under this call include municipalities, the third sector, entrepreneurs, spas and associations. The maximum amount of the subsidy is €500,000.
The tourism minister explained that the call has been prepared by the Tourism Support Fund team in cooperation with representatives of the Slovak Tourism Association, the Slovak Self-governing Regions Association (SK8), the Slovak Towns and Villages Association (ZMOS), the Slovak Hotels and Restaurants Association, the Association of Tourism Organisations, and the Slovak Spa Association.
