During the visit, Rasi is due to hold talks with the highest representatives of the Japanese legislature - with head of the House of Councillors Masakazu Sekiguchi and Speaker of the House of Representatives Fukushiro Nukaga. The programme will also include a meeting with chairwoman of the Japan-Slovakia parliamentary friendship group Seiko Noda. The main topics of the talks will be the strengthening of inter-parliamentary cooperation and a discussion on common interests in international politics.
"Japan is a strategic partner for Slovakia, with which we are linked not only by excellent diplomatic relations, but also by common democratic values. The aim of my trip is to contribute to the further development of our cooperation, especially in the areas of economy, innovation and investment, where we see enormous potential," said Rasi.
The economic dimension of the trip will focus on promoting trade and creating opportunities for new Japanese investment in Slovakia. According to Rasi, Japan is one of the most important foreign investors and the aim of the negotiations will be to strengthen this trend, especially in areas with high added value.
