Senica, 27 August (TASR) - Before an away-from-home Cabinet Session in Senica (Trnava region) on Wednesday, Interior Minister and Voice-SD leader Matus Sutaj Estok declined to say whether the Slovak Academy of Sciences' (SAV) analysis of the safety of anti-Covid vaccines will be on the agenda of the session, opining that this should be discussed at a standard, and not an away-from-home session.
"Away-from-home government sessions are specific, with the problems of individual regions being primarily addressed there. I assume it will be on the agenda of a standard session held in Bratislava," said Sutaj Estok.
Sutaj Estok sees no reason why Slovaks shouldn't trust the top scientific authority, such as SAV. He pointed out that Government Proxy for Investigating the COVID-19 Pandemic Management Peter Kotlar still has to complete the task that was assigned to him at the beginning by dealing with how effective the pandemic management was. "He has completed its medical part, and now he must devote all his energy to examining how effective the management of the pandemic during the term of Premier Igor Matovic was," he stated.
Justice Minister Boris Susko (Smer-SD) will wait for the analysis to be discussed. "We must first familiarise ourselves with this analysis in detail, and then we'll ask further questions, as there are also things in Mr. Kotlar's report that have some legal relevance," said Susko. He assured the media that he respects SAV as a renowned scientific institution. At the same time, he doesn't think that Proxy Kotlar, whose report on the risks of vaccines has been refuted by SAV, should resign.
