Bratislava, 27 August (TASR) - The Slovak government will hold an away-from-home session in Senica (Trnava region) on Wednesday, with a focus on analysing the socio-economic situation and specific issues in the districts of Skalica and Senica along with proposals for improvements in the social and economic areas.
The cabinet is also expected to approve a proposal for the cancellation of the 2024–30 Sectoral Education Strategy at the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family, as the ministry explained that several measures and tasks under the strategy relied on state budget funding that can no longer be guaranteed due to the consolidation of public finances.
The cabinet is also set to discuss the draft plan for the government's foreign relations.
Furthermore, the ministers will take note of a document prepared by the Transport Ministry regarding the liberalisation of transport services in public interest on railways and special tracks. Slovakia is required, under the EU regulation concerning the liberalisation of public transport sector, to tender for operators for all rail links by 2030, with the ministry planning to publish the first notifications of the planned tenders this year which should be launched within the first phase by late 2026. The winning bidders are expected to start operating the first routes in 2029.
