Bratislava, 25 August (TASR) - The opposition Christian Democrats (KDH) and 'Slovakia' party criticise the attitude of Government Proxy for Investigating the Management of the COVID-19 Pandemic Peter Kotlar to the results of the analysis of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines, which was carried out by the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAV).
According to MP Marek Krajci ('Slovakia'-'For the People'-KU caucus), Kotlar is unable to look critically at his own statements. MP Peter Stachura (KDH) claims that Kotlar's ignoring of rational arguments of the scientific community by a public official is dangerous and unacceptable.
"This whole embarrassing public spectacle of Kotlar is, unfortunately, also proof of how vulnerable democratic establishments are to disinformation and conspirators. Their infiltration into the public space causes chaos, suspicion and insecurity," stated Stachura.
According to Krajci, Kotlar has no factual arguments and continues to spread dangerous misinformation. At the same time, he expressed full confidence in the analysis of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, which, according to him, confirms the results of renowned laboratories within the EU. "The whole havoc worth €350,000 was just a waste of money. The vaccines, which were also used in Slovakia, were checked by certified laboratories that verified the individual batches. Kotlar's doubts have no real basis," emphasised Krajci.
Kotlar ruled out stepping down from his post for now, he told a press conference on Monday, adding that he doesn't consider the Slovak Academy of Sciences' (SAV) analysis of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines to be authoritative because the SAV is not a certified workplace. The conclusions of the investigation will be decisive for him.
