Ten New Political Parties Seek Registration in Slovakia

Bratislava, 23 August (TASR) – A total of ten new political parties are currently seeking registration in Slovakia, with notifications about the collection of required signatures published on the website of the Interior Ministry. Among the fledging parties are organisations named Jilo, United Slavs, Farmers' Movement, Danube, Kosice Movement 2030, Society Slovakia, Right to Truth, Roma East, Common Goal, and a party called Eastern Coast also plans to form. Party founders are required to collect at least 10,000 signatures, submit them to the ministry, and apply for registration. If all legal conditions are met, the Interior Ministry will register the party. According to the party register, there are currently 54 active political parties or movements in Slovakia, whereas over 100 political parties are in the process of dissolution. A party ceases to exist on the day the ministry deletes it from the register. mf
