Bratislava, 22 August (TASR) - The opposition Christian Democrats (KDH) are calling on Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) to dismiss Government Proxy for Investigating the Management of the COVID-19 Pandemic Peter Kotlar, KDH's communications department told TASR on Friday, adding that the government is paying for a costly analysis just to be able to refute conspiracy assertions. "KDH is calling on Fico to apologise to the public, stop wasting public funds, and likewise, to dismiss the exposed conspirator Peter Kotlar," said the party's MP Peter Stachura. According to him, the government is opening up opportunities for disinformation figures, including in the public sphere; then it pays for costly studies to refute their claims. "Such conspiracy theories are dangerous in that they erode public trust in vaccines, experts and institutions," warned Stachura. As TASR learnt from SAV on Thursday (21 August), an analysis has shown that the vaccines contain only trace amounts of DNA molecules, far below the maximum level set. In this regard, SAV warned that the statements and publications claiming high levels of DNA are based on technically incorrect procedures and/or misinterpreted results. Such claims are false and misleading, according to SAV. In response, Kotlar told TASR that he wouldn't comment further, saying that he wants this matter to be decided by the judiciary. He stated that there will be two opposing sides: an expert from a certified laboratory, and scientists without an expert's seal from a non-certified SAV workplace. The coalition Voice-SD party will issue its political statement regarding the government proxy after the results of the analysis of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines are presented to the government. Health Minister Kamil Sasko (Voice-SD) plans to inform the cabinet about the analysis at its session next week. It was back in April this year when Sasko asked SAV to test samples of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines in response to earlier statements made by Kotlar. According to Kotlar, his analysis confirmed that all tested vaccine batches are capable of altering human DNA, which he claimed may lead to the development of several serious diseases. jrg/df/ko
