Bratislava, 22 August (TASR) - The government will meet for the second time this week on Friday to deal with several school bills that were shifted from Wednesday's (20 August) session. The ministers should discuss, for example, the Education Ministry's bill, expanding reasons for reducing normative contributions for schools. The Education Ministry has submitted a bill on the financing of schools and school facilities. In line with it, private or church schools that are not registered as public education providers could have their contributions reduced by 20 percent. Schools that are public education providers, but fail to comply with their duties in this regard, could see their contributions cut as well. The Cabinet should also deal with the bill on school administration. The new institute of a public education provider should be established under this law. An amendment to the Education Act brings changes to pre-primary education. This should be mandatory for all four-years-old kids as of September 2027. A year later, it should also be compulsory for three-years-old children. ko
