Bratislava, 21 August (TASR) - The opposition 'Slovakia' party welcomes the statement by the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAV) on an analysis of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines, stated MP Marek Krajci ('Slovakia', 'For the People', KU caucus) on Thursday, criticising Health Minister Kamil Sasko (Voice-SD) for not publishing the results of the analysis yet.
"Sasko has been hesitating with informing the public about this very important analysis, which he had ordered for €350,000 from public funds. I hope that Minister Kamil Sasko will address this matter as soon as possible," he stated.
Krajci also said that he believes that Slovakia will provide a sufficient amount of vaccines for the next flu season. "COVID-19 and influenza are seasonal diseases. It is important that Slovakia has enough vaccines for all those who want to be vaccinated and that the vaccination is tailored to their health condition," he added.
SAV on Thursday announced the results of an analysis of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines. According to the institution, these clearly show that these vaccines contain only trace amounts of DNA molecules, far below the maximum level set. Statements and publications claiming high levels of DNA, including those that prompted the SAV analysis, are based on technically incorrect procedures and/or misinterpreted results. SAV said that such claims are false and misleading.
In April, Health Minister Kamil Sasko (Voice–SD) asked SAV to test samples of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines in response to Kotlar's claims that all tested vaccine batches are capable of altering human DNA, which he said may lead to the development of several serious diseases. Experts were tasked with preparing a comprehensive report including a quantitative analysis of the presence of DNA and other substances in selected retention batches of vaccines used among the Slovak population, as well as an analysis of their potential impact on the human body. The cost of the analysis was estimated at approximately €350,000.
