Bear Attacks Man in Liptov Area, Strike Team Surveying Terrain

Liptovsky Jan, 20 August (TASR) - A bear attacked a man not far from Stanisovska Cave near the village of Liptovsky Jan in Zilina region on Wednesday, TASR was told by Milan Kozelnicky, the head of a brown bear strike team, which is on the spot investigating whether the bear is in the vicinity. It was the My Liptov regional newspaper that broke the news first. Kozelnicky told TASR that the situation is under investigation. "We've arrived at the site, we're surveying the terrain and are working with a drone to monitor whether the bear is anywhere nearby," he added. According to regional media, the man who was attacked by the bear suffered multiple injuries. He was taken to hospital in the town of Liptovsky Mikulas. am/df
