Transpetrol: Oil Supplies to Slovakia via Druzba Pipeline Interrupted on Monday

18. augusta 2025 15:13
Bratislava, 18 August (TASR) - The Druzba pipeline stopped supplying crude oil to Slovakia on Monday, oil-transport operator Transpetrol confirmed for TASR on the same day, adding that this isn't currently affecting oil transport through Slovak territory. Hungary has also announced a halt to Druzba oil supplies, claiming that it's the consequence of an attack carried out by Ukraine. "Our company has no further information about the reason for the halt, which occurred outside Slovak territory. Oil transport through Slovakia is secure and is being carried out in accordance with the plan," stated Transpetrol. Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on social media that a transformer station essential for operating the pipeline has been damaged, adding that, according to Russian Deputy Energy Minister Pavel Sorokin, Russian specialists are working to repair the station as quickly as possible but aren't yet able to say when oil transit can be resumed. lin/df
