Finance Ministry: Drawing of EU Funds Rose to 9.14 percent in July

Bratislava, 18 August (TASR) - Of the total EU funds allocation amounting to €12.79 billion for the 2021-2027 period, Slovakia has managed to absorb €1.17 billion, which accounts for 9.14 percent, up 0.55 percentage points (p.p.) on the previous month, TASR reported on Monday based on the Finance Ministry's information on the drawing of EU funds, which is published on a monthly basis. In the current programme period, EU funds are allocated to Slovakia primarily through the main 'Slovakia' programme with an allocation representing as much as €12.59 billion, as well as via four smaller programmes, i.e., Interreg Slovakia-Czechia (€85.32 million), Interreg Slovakia-Austria (€55.5 million), INTERACT IV (€45 million), and the Fisheries Programme 2021-2027 (€15.23 million). As of 31 July, funds worth €1.157 billion from the total allocation had been spent under the 'Slovakia' programme, representing an absorption rate of 9.19 percent, up 0.55 p.p. from the end of the previous month. The funds spent and absorption rates reported under the smaller programmes were as follows: Interreg VI-A Slovakia-Czechia programme - €1.81 million, or 2.12 percent (up 0.59 p.p. from June); Interreg VI-A Slovakia-Austria programme - €92,680, or 0.17 percent (up 0.08 p.p. from June); and INTERACT IV programme - €10.9 million, or 24.23 percent, (up 1.20 p.p. from June). As of 31 July 2025, no funds under the Fisheries Programme had been drawn from the total allocation of €15.23 million. jrg/df/lin
